Nayagarh,(Baghuabarta): In the first match of the one-day series against Sri Lanka, Indian captain Shikhar Dhawan set a special record to his name. Dhawan has become the oldest cricketer to captain India. Dhawan set the record in his own name as soon as he came down to the field. Dhawan is 35 years and 225 days old. He broke Mahinder Amarnath’s record. Amarnath became the first captain of the Indian team at the age of 34. The Indian cricket team, led by Dhawan, is on a tour of Sri Lanka. The team will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches during the tour. He also has a chance to gain a big batting record after running a record as a captain. If Dhawan succeeds in doing so, he will overtake former India captain Sourav Ganguly. Dhawan has scored 5977 runs in the day so far. If he scores 23 runs in a match, he will complete 6,000 daily runs. He will be the 10th Indian player to achieve this feat. Virat Kohli holds the record for fastest 6,000 runs a day. Kohli holds the record in 136 innings. In the second is Ganguly. He has scored 6,000 runs in 147 innings. Dhawan has scored 5977 runs in 139 innings so far. If he scores 23 runs in today’s match, he will score 4,000 runs to overtake Ganguly.
