The Indian hockey team won the medal by defeating the mighty Germany in 5-6. Team India did not do well in this high voltage match. But it kept coming back with goals. But then Germany put two more goals to put pressure on India. But India took a 5-3 lead in 2 minutes. Timor Orju scored in the first minute for Germany. As a result, the team lost 1-0 to India. Then India had a good counter. However, Rupinder Pal Singh failed to score even after receiving a penalty corner. Just before the end of the first quarter, India weighed in on Germany. However, in the final quarter, Germany scored another goal to make it 4-5. Despite a tough clash between the two teams, India took the lead 5-6 to win the match.
