Nayagarh,(Baghuabarta): Ebrahim Raisi has sworn in as Iran’s new president today. Raisi is Iran’s eighth president. Indian Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar was also present at the swearing-in ceremony. Earlier, Jaishankar met Raisi in Tehran during a visit to Russia last month. Raisi won the June 2021 presidential election unilaterally. Raisi is said to be loyal to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader. Raisi is considered the leader of the regional party. He is not even trying to resolve the issue with the United States and the West. Raisi is a judge by profession. On the 1988, Raisi was a judge in the Tehran Revolutionary Court. In 2016, Raisi became the head of the Astana Kudas Rajabi Foundation. In 2019, Raisi became the Chief Justice of Iran. However, the role of Ibrahim Raisi in the mass execution of political prisoners in the 1990s has been questioned.
