Bhubaneswara, (BaghuaBarta): In the wake on COVID-19 pandemic, closure of Anganwadi centres have been extended till end of June,2020.Delivery of services are however being ensured at the doorstepsof the beneficiaries by the Anganwadi workers to ensure that there is no disruption in feeding. Supply ofTake Home Ration (THR) & eggs, for children (6 months–3years) , pregnant & nursing women and supply of dry ration, in lieu of morning snacks & Hot Cooked Meals (HCM) and eggs to preschool children (3-6) years as per entitlement is being done by the Anganwadi workers. On 1st of June,2020, THR and dry ration for Hot Cooked meals was distributed across 72587 AWCs and a total of 41, 27, 050 beneficiaries i.e, 17,93,896 children of the age group 6months-3 years; 16,13,775 children of the age group 3 – 6 years and 7,19,379 pregnant & nursing women have been provided THR and dry ration. Squads, constituted at district and block level, are monitoring the process of production and distribution of THR to the beneficiaries. This has ensured quality and timely supply of THR. Districts have been instructed to enrol children below 6 years of the returnee migrants in the AWCs and provide Supplementary nutrition to the eligible beneficiaries.
